Al Wakrah and Al Shamal Top the Basketball League Standings

Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Al Wakrah and Al Shamal topped the overall standings of the Qatar Men's Basketball League after their victory this evening over Al Rayyan and Al Arabi, respectively, at the end of the fourth round of the tournament. In the first match, Al Wakrah won a big victory over its rival Al Rayyan with a score of (97-77) by 20 points, (27-20, 25-15, 24-18, 21-24) In the second match, Al Shamal won a difficult victory from Al Arabi, with a score of (95-94), by one point, (25-22, 16-12, 19-30, 21-17). By the end of the fourth round matches, Al Wakrah and Al Shamal came first and second, respectively, in the overall standings with seven points each, but the points difference was in favor of Al Wakrah, Al Sadd came third with six points, Al Khor fourth with the same balance, Al Ahli and Al Gharafa finished fifth and sixth, and each had five points, Al Arabi finished seventh, Al Rayyan eighth, and Qatar with three points in the ninth place. The matches of the fifth round are scheduled to start next Saturday with Al Gharafa face Qatar SC, and Al Wakrah face Al Khor. The round will conclude next Sunday with Al Sadd against Al Ahli, and Al Rayyan against Al Arabi. (QNA)
