Al Wakrah Beat Raja Agadir in 36th Arab Handball Championship in Tunisia

Tunis, October 25 (QNA) - Al Wakrah defeated Moroccan Raja Agadir 28/24 in the first group competition in the 36th Arab Handball Championship of Champions, which started Sunday in Hammamet, Tunisia, and will continue until November 2. Al Wakrah will play its second match on Monday against the Tunisian Association of Hammamet. The defending champion, Al Gharafa, lost its first match in the second group against Tunisian Makarim Al Mahdia, 19/24, and will face Esperance of Tunisia in the next match. Ten teams participate in the tournament, divided into two groups, first group includes Qatar Al Wakrah, Tunisian Hammamet Association, the Moroccan Raja Agadir, the Al Ain of UAE, and the Algerian JS Saoura, while the second group includes Qatar's Al Gharafa, Esperance and Makarim Al Mahdia from Tunisia, the Algerian Amal Skikda and Al Jazeera of UAE, the first four teams from each group qualify for Quarter-finals. Al Gharafa was crowned with the title of the last edition which was held in the Jordanian capital, Amman in 2019, after winning the final match against the Algerian Petroleum Complex with a score of 36/32.
