Al Wakrah to Face Al Shamal, Al Rayyan to Face Al Ahli In Handball League

Doha, April 05 (QNA) - The 11th round of the Qatari General Handball League for men for the 2020/2021 sports season began, as two matches will be held on Tuesday, the first will be Al Wakrah vs Al Shamal, while the second match will be Al Ahli vs Al Rayyan. This round will be completed on Wednesday with three matches. Al Arabi will meet Qatar, Al Sadd with Al Khor and Al Duhail with Al Gharafa. In the first match on Tuesday, favorites Al-Wakra, who are at the top of the table with 27 points and is seeking to continue its winning streak in order to stay at the top of the standings at the expense of Al Shamal, who ranks eighth with 14 points, while in the second match the chances appear to be equal between Al-Ahli and Al-Rayyan, who each have 21 points and are looking to collect the three points to keep their chances in the competition for the first places. The tenth round witnessed Al-Ahli's victory over Al-Shamal 23-30, Al-Gharafa over Al-Rayyan 18-17, Al-Arabi over Al-Khor 37-30, Al-Wakrah over Qatar 24-21, and Al-Duhail over Al-Sadd 35/29. Al Rayyan holds the record for the number of wins in the Qatari General Handball League for men, having won the title 14 times, followed by Al Sadd, nine times, while Al-Ahli and Al-Jaish won it four times, Al-Arabi, Al-Duhail and Qatar twice, and Al-Gharafa and Al-Wakrah once each.
