Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship: Qatar Team Gets Opening Win Over Philippine

Tehran, March 22 (QNA) - The Qatari beach handball team defeated Philippine (2-0) on Tuesday, in its opener match of the 8th Asian Men's Beach Handball Championship in Iran. The championship runs until March 28 and qualifies for the World Championships to be hosted by Greece next June. Qatar team will play its second match on Wednesday against Oman which lost its opening match (1/2) earlier against Vietnam. Besides hosts Iran and defending champions Qatar, Oman, Vietnam, the Philippines, and India are participating in the event. Teams securing the top two positions in the continental event will qualify for the World Championships in Greece. Qatar team was crowned with the title of the last edition of the Championship, which was held in China in 2019, after defeated Oman 2-0 in the final match. (QNA)
