Aspetar Provides Medical Services to Tennis Champions

Doha, February 17 (QNA) - For the 8th consecutive year, Aspetar provided expert world-class medical services at the Qatar Total Open 2019. The world's top tennis players, including world number three Romania's Simona Halep, world number five Czech Republic's Karolina Pliskova, world number six Germany's Angelique Kerber and world number seven Ukraine's Elina Svitolina. Aspetar offered tailored physiotherapy solutions to participating athletes, as part of its mission to assist athletes to achieve their maximum performance and full potential. In addition, players were able to use Aspetar's state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities, designed to treat injured athletes from all over the world. The Women's Tennis Association WTA had awarded Aspetar medical team the 2017 Irving Glick Award of Excellence for outstanding performance. The award recognizes the contribution of physicians from Aspetar in supporting athletes at a number of major tournaments, including the Qatar Total Open. The unseeded Belgian Elise Mertens won the Qatar Total Open on Saturday after winning top seed Simona Halep, two set to one. (QNA)
