Azerbaijan`s First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva bestowed with high award of International Gymnastics Federation

Baku, May 9, AZERTAC The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has bestowed its high award on Azerbaijan`s First Vice-President, president of the country`s National Gymnastics Federation Mehriban Aliyeva. The decision was announced at a FIG Council meeting in Baku. Addressing the meeting, FIG president Morinari Watanabe hailed the Azerbaijani government`s attention to sports. He said Azerbaijan`s National Gymnastics Federation differs from other federations for its excellent organizational skills. He announced FIG`s decision to confer the award upon Mehriban Aliyeva, saying it recognizes her role in developing gymnastics in Azerbaijan.
