Bahrain lose 0-1 to New Zealand

Manama, Oct.12 (BNA): Bahrain today lost 1 – 0 to New Zealand in a friendly match played at the national stadium in Riffa. The New Zealand football squad scored the only goal through Niko Kirwan 89 minutes into the match. Bahrain beat Curacao 4-0 in the first friendly match while New Zealand edged past Curacao 2-1. Led by Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, the national team is stepping up preparations to take part in the FIFA Arab Cup which will be held in December. Bahrain was drawn in Group A along with Iraq, Qatar and Oman.
