Brazil's Ambassador to the State Highlights Qatar's Success in Hosting Club World Cup

Doha, February 08 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil Luiz Alberto praised the State of Qatar's success in hosting the FIFA Club World Cup 2020, during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, highlighting the success of the country's healthcare system and the contribution it made to hosting many sporting events.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil said that the State of Qatar remains the best in implementing health measures and containing the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), noting that the country prioritizes safety of people overall else, and that is why it preferred not to receive Club World Cup fans from outside Qatar.
He added that the Qatari government and FIFA are making a big effort to ensure everyone involved in the competition is safe especially fans, who were set to come in large numbers like last year's edition. The ambassador voiced his support of all precautionary measures in place, particularly in light of current conditions that requires strict measures to ensure the safety of others.
The Brazilian Ambassador that the FIFA Club World Cup includes the best players in the world, making it hard to expect the winner. He noted that yesterday's match between Palmeiras and Tigres Unal was very strong and highly competitive, with the Brazilian team failing to win at the end.
His Excellency said that he knows Qatari football quite well, as he followed the participation of the Qatari national team in Copa America. He highlighted that Brazilians have beautiful memories in Qatar, when Flamengo reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup last year.
The Brazilian Ambassador to the state highlighted the great development of Qatar's infrastructure and the rapid rate of completing World Cup facilities. He added that those factors bode well for hosting an exceptional World Cup edition in 2022, expressing his delight at being present in Qatar to experience that development and the preparations for hosting the Middle-East's first World Cup.
He expressed his hope that the Qatari team can win the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, pointing out that all teams will be competing ferociously for the title. He said that the Brazilians people love for football was mainly due to the joy it brings, especially that they have been playing it form more than 100 years.
