Carlos Queiroz on Chiefs’ radar

TEHRAN,April 16(MNA)-- Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz was named as a candidate to take over as Kaizer Chiefs coach. Serb Vladimir Vermezovic had been fired earlier this week after a string of poor results. The former Real Madrid manager and twice assistant to Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, who has steered Iran to the final qualification stage for the 2014 World Cup, has been shortlisted for the Chiefs, according to South African media. Speaking after the three-year reign of Vermezovic came to end with only two League Cup titles to show for his efforts, team manager Bobby Motaung said the most popular South African football club were interested in Queiroz. The Portuguese lead South Africa to the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan through a successful qualifying campaign.
