Cup may be over for Divavesi, Solomona

(AAP) Fiji's Iowane Divavesi and Samoan backrower David Solomona may have played their final game of the rugby league World Cup after being charged by the match review committee.

The pair are both facing two-match bans following incidents in Wednesday night's
fixtures, Divavesi in danger of missing his side's semi-final qualifier against
Ireland due to a tripping charge and Solomona a striking charge.
Samoa are due to play France at CUA Stadium on Sunday to decide which team will
officially finish last in the tournament.
The two players have until 5:00pm (AEDT) Friday to decide whether to accept the bans
or proceed to a hearing on Wednesday night.
Four other players were issued cautions, Fiji's Jason Bukuya and Scotland's Ian
Henderson warned after trading punches in the 35th minute of Scotland's upset 18-16
win on the Central Coast.
A fourth Fijian, captain Wes Naiqama, also found himself in hot water with the match
review committee, the Newcastle centre cautioned 72nd minute striking incident.
Ireland's Michael Platt is also free to play in Monday night's semi-final qualifier
after being warned for leading with his legs into an opponent.
