FIA chief praises Iranian race track in Parand

TEHRAN,May 23(MNA) – Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) chief Jean Todt said on Monday that he was surprised by the high standard of the Parand International Circuit. The UN representative for a Decade of Action on Road Safety, who has traveled to Iran to promote road safety, praised Iranian officials for the development of the Parand race track. “I was really surprised to see the people who attend (races at) the circuit. I didn’t know the details of the international circuit… which has been built with a high standard,” Todt said. “Iran has so many talented youths who could shine at world events. The Parand International Circuit is up to standards and we are going to hold races here,” he added. “I am so happy to travel to Iran. Hopefully, Iranian officials will establish a center to train people who are interested in (motor) sports,” Todt concluded.
