FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021: Algeria Reach Semis After Win over Morocco

Doha, December 12 (QNA) - Algeria qualified for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 semi-final following a 5-3 victory on penalties after the original and extra time ended in a 2-2 draw at Al Thumama Stadium. Yacine Brahimi put Algeria in front from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute but Mohammed Nahiri leveled the game for Morocco in the 64th minute, as the original time ended in a 1-1 draw. In the extra time, Mohammed Belaili scored a spectacular goal from a long-range shot in the 102nd minute. Badr Benoun netted for Morocco in the 111st minute, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw. In the penalty shoot-out, Algeria's goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi saved a crucial penalty to help his team win the game. Algeria will take on Qatar in the semi-final of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021. (QNA)
