FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 European Qualifiers: Qatar National Football Team Face Serbia Wednesday

Debrecen, August 31 (QNA) - Reigning Asian champions Qatar are set for headline fixtures as they face Serbia on Wednesday in the European qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the Nagyerdei Stadion in the Hungarian city of Debrecen.
The Qatari national team enters tomorrow's match with high spirits, self-confidence, and an incentive to win after its honorable results in the Gold Cup. Qatar team has 7 points collected from the victory over Luxembourg and Azerbaijan and a draw with Ireland, and has not lost any match in the European qualifiers so far.
Although the results of the Qatari team in the European qualifiers are not counted, especially as it is the host of the 2022 World Cup, the team is looking for a new victory in the qualifiers in order to continue the good results achieved in the first stage.
The Qatari team prepared well for the next stage of the qualifiers through a camp in Austria that lasted for two weeks, plus participation in the Gold Cup, during which the Qatari team show a distinguished performance, achieved good results, and qualified for the semi-finals before losing from the United States of America.
Qatar national team coach, Felix Sanchez, expected to play tomorrow's match with the starting lineup of the national team. The coach focused in the last training session on set-pieces, corner kicks, tactical and technical aspects. The training included fitness exercises and technical maneuvering with the participation of the most important players in the starting lineup, as for the strong Serbian team, which is full of experienced players. The team has (7) points, equal with Portugal in points, and has a striking force in attack, midfield and defense.
The last training of the Qatari national team, led by coach Felix Sanchez, was held today at the main stadium of the match.
Qatari national team captain Hassan Al Haydos said that the team is ready for the matches of Serbia, Portugal and Luxembourg, noting: "we have the capabilities to compete and benefit from encounters in order to gain experience from strong European teams."
Al Haydos said in a press statement today that the national team's match with Serbia tomorrow will not be easy due to the high technical level of the Serbian team, its global classification and obtaining (7) points in the group equal with Portugal, "but we will try to our best in order to know the strengths and weaknesses of the team."
From his part, Qatar national team player, Al-Moez Ali, stressed the importance of the Serbia match, saying that: "The Serbian team is very strong, includes stars who play in the European leagues on return, we prepared very well, especially with the emergence of our team in the Gold Cup and the development of our level, we have the ability, technical capabilities and high morale." He concluded by saying: "I'm ready to put a historical imprint for us in this meeting." (QNA)
