Football: FIFA Sheds Light on Al Duhail's First Participation in the Club World Cup

Doha, January 12 (QNA) - FIFA's official website shed light Monday on Al Duhail Sports Club's first-ever participation in the Club World Cup, set to take place in Doha from Feb. 1 to Feb. 11. Al Duhail will participate after winning the QNB Stars League title. The competition will take place in Ahmed bin Ali stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, and Education City Stadium. The later will host the final on Feb.1 at 9 PM local time. Al Duhail will kick off the competition with a match against Auckland City from New Zealand. FIFA conducted an interview with Al Duhail's coach Sabri Lamouchi, who expressed his excitement at the prospect of participating in the competition, which is held in Doha for the second year running. "Its a great opportunity, even if I wasnt at the helm of the team that won the league title," he said. "Our goal is to be more competitive and be the best representative of Qatar and the Qatari league," he added. This year's competition will see participation from UEFA Champions League winners Bayern Munich, Tigres Uanl, Al Ahli Ulsan Hyundai, in addition to Al Duhail and Auckland City. The South American team will be decided in late January after the conclusion of the Copa Libertadores. (QNA)
