Football: Qatar's U23 Team Set to Play Croatia Friday

Doha, May 31 (QNA) - The Qatari Olympic football team will face Croatia on Friday, as part of their preparations for the Asia Cup U23 qualifiers that will take place in October. The Qatari side defeated Malta 5-0 yesterday in the first of three friendly matches. They will face Bosnia n the third match before they conclude their training camp and return to Doha. The Qatar U-23 Olympic team's training camp started on May 9 and is set to conclude on June 8. It was divided into two periods; the first was in Doha and involved a daily training session in Aspire stadiums. The second period started on May 22 with a trip to Croatia, where the team will play three friendlies. The first period saw the Qatari team play two friendlies against Kosovo. They won one 2-0 and drew the other 2-2. The camp was a good opportunity for new head coach Nicolas Cordova to get to know the players well. (QNA)
