Fung Aims To Hit The Jackpot In Resorts World Manila Masters

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysian professional Nicholas Fung will be hoping to hit the jackpot when he tees off in the Resorts World Manila Masters from Nov 10-13 at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club. The 26-year-old who finished tied fifth in the inaugural edition in 2013 and eighth in 2014 is hoping lady luck would be on his side for this year's edition. "The game is feeling good. I am very happy to be heading back to the Philippines for the Resorts World Manila Masters. I am looking forward to it. It is one of my favourite golf courses. I like the layout," Fung was quoted as saying in the Asian Tour website www.asiantour.com. "I have had great memories there as well. I managed to keep my Tour card twice, thanks to commendable results on that course," added the bespectacled Fung, who finished tied for 32nd spot last year. In this regard, Fung noted that he needs to improve on his mental and also the putts which he believes can be major elements to winning the title. "I am not putting badly but I realised I cannot make putts when I am tensed. I need to learn to relax and not think too much when I am in contention," said the Malaysian Sabahan. Other notable players set to feature in the US$1 million (about RM4.2 million) tournament is two-time winner of the Asian Tour title this season, Taiwan's Chan Shih-chang, Thailand's Pavit Tangkamolprasert, Singapore's Mardan Mamat and Indian duo S.S.P.Chawrasia and Gaganjeet Bhullar. -- BERNAMA
