Almaty, 28 October 2008, (Khabar) - In Almaty, "Mercur Auto" company
organized cycle race in honor of Republic Day.

About 150 participants at the age 14-57 rode cycles on difficult route of 18 km. Cycle race is the third stage of extreme competition "Mercur Open Cup", earlier competition on triathlon and arm wrestling were held.

All 12 types of competitions will be held during the year. The organizers say the project has already become
popular among sportsmen and common citizens and bright event in sports life
of the country.

Svetlana Krahsennikova, head of department of advertisement and PR, "Mercur
Auto" company:
- This stage is held under the aegis of "Volkswagen" brand as this brand
supports sport all over the world and organizes many athletic events, for
example, football school of juniors. And we also try to organize such sports
events as our partner "Volkswagen".

The employees of the "Mercur Auto" company note the number of participants
is increasing every year. This time over 100 racers took part in cycle race
despite cold weather. They had to pass 18 km in mountainous area and finish
in Tabagan sports and entertaining complex.

Danil Fomenykh:
- I am glad I have won. The victory was not easy, it was very difficult, I
just have advanced on the last hill and became the first to my surprise.

Everybody can take part in "Mercur Open Cup". Nine more stages will be held
in future and the person who gets more balls, will receive the main prize,
automobile from the company.
