HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praises Bahrain boxers’ achievements

Manama, May 1(BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated HisMajesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the achievements of Bahrain National Boxing team, which bagged three gold medals and one silver medal in the he UAE International Open Boxing Championship held on 29-30 April in Dubai. He also extended congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince Prime Minister and to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs. "We are happy with our achievements in this international event which came thanks to the support of HM the King for all sportspeople in Bahrain”,said HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He said that the national boxing team wa set up in 2018 with specific goals, including reaching the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, adding that the main objective has been already achieved thanks to Denis Latypov who secured a berth in the Olympics. He appreciated the efforts exerted by the Bahrain Combat Sports Council chaired by of HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa to develop the potentials and capacities of our national combat federations that are operating under its umbrella. He praised the efforts undertaken bythe Bahrain Boxing Federation to develop thesport, led by chairmanYoussef Abdulmajeed Al Kooheji.
