HH Shaikh Khalid praises participants in Strength Week

Manama, Mar.9 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has instructed the Organising Committee of Strength Week Championship to strengthen preventative measures meant to combat the spread of the coronavirus "COVID-19" pandemic throughout the event which will take place on March 09-13, 2021 to protect the health and safety of the participants. Organised by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Media Office in collaboration with Bahrain Weightlifting Federation and KHK Sports, the event is being held under the theme Be a Beast in the area opposite the late Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa halls in Isa Sports City. The Championship is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's initiatives supporting sports. "We have instructed the Organising Committee to follow all precautionary measures in order to safeguard the competitors during the event as this comes to implement all the decisions and instructions issued by the Coordination Committee and the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus," HH Shaikh Khalid said. He praised the performance displayed by the participants on the first day of the event. He also congratulated the winners. The event featured various competitions and the winners of top positions include Aysha Saeed, Hussain Ali Said Qaharman and Hassan Tawfeeq.
