HH Shaikh Nasser to lead Royal Team in Spain’s Endurance Championship

Manama, July 12 (BNA): The Royal Endurance Team will take part tomorrow,Tuesday, in the Spanish International Championship, in Catalonia. Jockeys from all over the world will take part in the championship, which includes two races covering 120 and 160 kilometres for the public and a 120-kilometre race for young contenders. His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa will lead the Royal Endurance Team in the 120-kilometre race for the public, which will be held on Wednesday, riding Calandria. Royal Endurance Team jockeys Shaikha Najla bint Salman Al Khalifa, Salman Isa, Mohammed Abdulhamid Al Hashemi and Othman Abduljalil Al Awadhi will also take part in the same race. The team jockeys will make their debut tomorrow, Tuesday, in the 160-kilometre race for the public and the 120-kilometre race for youth. Jockeys Raed Mahmoud, Mohammed Abdulsamad Al Bastaki will take part in the 160-kilometre race for the public, while Khalifa Al Sindi, Ahmed Al-Thawadi and Hassan Fardan will compete in the 120-kilometre race for youth. The royal team is taking part in the event in Catalonia, Spain, as part of preparations for the World Youth Endurance Championship, which will be held in the Netherlands in September. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed to take part in the Spanish Championship as part of the programme followed by the royal team to confirm Bahrain’s endurance strides in Europe, building on the recent achievements, including Jordan's championship. “The Spanish International Championship is an important turning point for the Royal Endurance Team to confirm its standing”, he said, paying tribute to HM the King for his unwavering support.
