HH Shaikh Nasser patronises Rashid Equestrian Club's 16th race

Manama, Feb. 19 (BNA): Under the patronage and in the presence of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club today held its 16th race at its racecourse in Raffa. Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) and Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, and Their Highness Shaikhs attended the eight-round race held over the cups of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and those of his children, HH Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in addition to the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club’s cup. HH Shaikh Nasser presented the trophies of his cups for the eighth round to Sultan bin Shreem, and the fifth round to winning trainer Terry Cain. HH Shaikh Nasser was also presented with the trophy of the sixth round by HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, following the Victorious Stable-owned horse, “Sabreena” won the round. HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid also crowned trainer Abdulla Kuwaiti, the winner of the first round, trainer James Naylor, the winner of the third round, owner Ibrahim Al-Afoo, the winner of the fourth round, and Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim, the winner of the seventh round. Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, presented the trophy of the Club’s cup to winning trainer James Naylor. HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed his pride in and keenness on translating the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the first knight and the first supporter to the equestrian sport in the kingdom, into the ground regarding the need to continue developing various equestrian sports in the kingdom so as to reach the highest levels. HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted his keenness to support the efforts and development steps made by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, led by the Club’s Honorary President, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Chairman of the Club’s High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed delight at the success of the race held over his cups and those of his sons, commending the efforts exerted to ensure the success of the race’s rounds, and congratulating all the winning owners, trainers and jockeys.
