HH Shaikh Nasser: Sports Professionalism Law to support athletes, increase achievements

Manama, Mar. 30 (BNA): HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has extended thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for ratifying and issuing Law 8/2021 promulgating the Sports Professionalism Law. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that the law will develop the youth and sports movement in the kingdom, and make its administrative and technical systems more stable, as well as contribute to increasing sports achievements. In a statement marking the issuance of the Sports Professionalism Law, HH Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the sports movement in Bahrain has made quantum leaps thanks to HM the King’s unlimited support, and unwavering keenness to support Bahraini athletes, noting that the new legislation will further advance the sports movement in the kingdom and make it professional. HH Shaikh Nasser paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose support, he said, has significantly contributed to the issuance of the Sports Professionalism Law. HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs also highlighted the tremendous efforts exerted by the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to ensure the issuance of the Sports Professionalism Law. HH Shaikh Nasser praised the role played by the Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, in the issuance of the law, citing the minister’s keenness to cooperate with the legislative branch to finalise all procedures. HH Shaikh Nasser paid similar tribute to the members of the Representatives and Shura councils for their great keenness to expedite the legislative procedures required for enacting the Sports Professionalism Law.
