High-level championships boost Bahrain’s advanced equestrian status

Manama, Jan. 29 (BNA): HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honorary President of the Royal Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that Bahrain has been one of the best strongholds of purebred Arabian horses.
Bahrain’s name and history have been associated with Arabian breed horses and the seventh local Arabian horse show championship and the first horses of Egyptian breed championship confirms the Kingdom’s determination to preserve the historical legacy of these old sports, HH said.
The commitment is in line with the directives and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to preserve the Bahraini heritage and inform successive generations about the identity and history of horses in Bahrain.
HH Shaikh Nasser was speaking as the Bahrain Sports Military Association’s ground at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club hosted the championships under the patronage of BREEF President HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
This championship has a special taste for fans of equestrian sports in Bahrain as it proves the high potential and capabilities of the owners and stables in the Kingdom. The championship is a great opportunity to display the beauty of horses, the great proportions of their bodies, their looks and the strength of their breed, HH Shaikh Nasser added.
He pointed out that BREEF’s objectives are to enhance local capabilities, talent and creativity in various circumstances in preparation for their participation in the upcoming Arabian horse championships and events and honor the Kingdom by achieving outstanding results.
