Iran’s Asbaghi wins gold at World Taekwondo Championships

TEHRAN,July 20(MNA)--Behnam Asbaghi of Iran won a gold medal at the 2013 World Taekwondo Championships in Puebla, Mexico on Thursday. The Iranian athlete defeated South Korean Kim Hun 5-4 in the Men’s Under-68 kg weight class. The bronze medal went to Balla Dieye from Senegal and Jose Antonio Rosillo from Spain. Asbaghi defeated Azerbaijan’s Elvin Mammadov, Cuban Angel Mora and Mexican Idulio Islas as well. In men's 58kg, Iran’s Hadi Mostan lost to Cha Tae-Moon from South Korean 9-8. The 2013 World Taekwondo Championships started July 15 at the exhibition center in Central Mexico's city of Puebla and will run until June 21. The event will bring the 872 athletes from 134 countries together. More than 5,000 local audiences attend the competitions.
