Iran’s Behrouzi wins gold in Asian Weightlifting Championships

TEHRAN,June 21(MNA)--Jaber Behrouzi of Iran claimed a gold medal in the 69kg category of the 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Saturday. Behrouzi lifted 147kg in snatch and 176kg in clean and jerk for a total lift of 323kg in the weight category, in the event is underway in Astana, Kazakhstan. Ketut Ariana from Indonesia finished in second place with total lift of 310 kg and bronze medal went to Pan Chien-hung of Chinese Taipei with 303kg. “I dedicate my gold medal to my coach (Koroush Bagheri) since he played a key role in my success,” Behrouzi said in the medal ceremony. It will be the 44th men's and 25th women's championship.
