Iran-Iraq friendly football match cancelled

TEHRAN,May 7(MNA)--The friendly football match between Iran and Iraq, set to be played on May 27, has been cancelled. The match, which had been scheduled to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, was called off after Iraq coach Zico disagreed with the venue. Carlos Queiroz’s team is gearing up for the final stage of Asian qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. Iran has been grouped with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Lebanon and Qatar in the competition.
