Iran Professional League fixtures revealed

TEHRAN,July 16(MNA) – The fixtures of the 2014-15 Iran Professional League (IPL) season have been released. On late Monday, in the ceremony held at the Milad Tower in Tehran, title-holder Foolad has been scheduled to meet Tractor Sazi in Tabriz in the first week of IPL competitions. IPL runner-up Persepolis will host Naft, who finished third last season, in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Saipa will meet newly-promoted Naft Masjed Soleyman in Karaj and Padideh, which won promotion to IPL, will face Malavan in Mashhad. Saba will host Zob Ahan and Sepahan face newly-promoted Paykan. Sanati Khuzestan will also play Gostaresh Foolad in Ahvaz. Also, Tehran derby between Iranian popular teams Esteghlal and Persepolis will be held in the 15th week but the date and time of the match has not been released. The 14th edition of the Iran Professional League, known as Persian Gulf Cup, will kick off from July 31, 2014 and will end on May 22, 2015. The Iranian Professional League competitions started in 2001-2002 season and Persepolis won the title.
