Iranian boxer Tolouti earns Olympic berth

TEHRAN,April 9(MNA)--Mehdi Tolouti grabbed an Olympics berth after advancing to the semifinals of AIBA Asian Olympic Qualifying Event 2012 in Astana, Kazakhstan on Saturday. The-64kg boxer defeated Shim Hyunyoung from South Korea 22-16 and earned a berth at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London. “Thank God for this victory. I am so glad since I succeeded to advance to Olympics in my birthday. My next rival is a powerful boxer from Turkmenistan and I will have to defeat him to go to final,” Mehdi Toluti said. Iran’s Ehsan Ruzbahani in 81kg weight class has already booked an Olympic berth.
