Iranian wrestlers win silvers in Asian Championship

TEHRAN,April 20(MNA)--Three Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed the silver medals in the 2013 Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi, India on Thursday. Abdolmohammad Papi in the 60kg weight class lost to Elmurat Tasmuradov of Uzbekistan. The bronze medal went to Arsen Eraliev of Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Wang Lumin. In the 66kg, Mehdi Zeidvand was defeated by Kim Ji-Hum from South Korea. Japanese Hiroyuki Shimizu and Yerbol Konyratov of Kazakhstan won the bronze jointly. Hadi Alizadeh seized the silver medal in the 74kg, after being beaten by Kim Hyeon-Woo from South Korea. Maxat Yerezhepov from Kazakhstan and Japanese Tomohiro Inoue claimed the bronze. Taleb Nematpour of Iran won the bronze medal. Azat Beishebekov of Kyrgyzstan won the bronze too in the 84kg class. Gold medal went to Rustam Assakalov of Uzbekistan. Park Jin-Sung of South Korea claimed the silver medal. In the 96kg, Iran’s Davoud Gilneirang and Yahia Abu-Tabeekh of Jordan won jointly the bronze. South Korean An Chang-Gun defeated Yerulan Iskakov of Kazakhstan and won the gold medal. South Korea finished in first place in the 2013 Asian Wrestling Championships after winning four gold medals and one silver. Uzbekistan came second with two gold medals. Kazakhstan claimed one gold, one silver and two bronze medals to take the third place. Iran came fourth with three silver and two bronze medals. More than 20 countries are participating in the 2013 Asian Wrestling Championships which is underway at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi, India. The event took place from April 18 to April 22, 2013.
