Iran`s Mohammad Bana to receive Medal of Honor

TEHRAN,Aug.27(MNA) – Greco-Roman wrestling coach Mohammad Bana, who inspired Iran to win the championship in the London 2012 Olympic Games, will be honored, the Iranian president says.
At a ceremony held to honor Olympic medal winners at the Ministry of Interior in Tehran on Saturday night, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that it has been approved in Iranian cabinet that Bana will receive the Medal of Honor for his success during the competitions.
Three Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed the gold medals in the Olympics.
Hamid Sourian beat Azerbaijan's Rovshan Bayramov in the 55kg weight class and won Iran’s first ever Greco-Roman Olympic gold.
Omid Noroozi beat Georgia's Revaz Lashkhi in the 60kg class, winning gold. Ghasem Rezaei also clinched gold in the 96kg division after defeating Russia's Rustam Totrov.
Bana, who resigned from his job as Iran's Greco-Roman wrestling coach after the London 2012 Olympic Games, has changed his mind.
“Frankly, I was not going to continue with the team but I will return to my job because the president ordered me to stay,” Bana said.
