Iran's National Football Team Leaves For Kuwait City

Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA – Iran's national football team left Tehran on Friday for Kuwait City to take part in the 7th West Asian Championship. Two Iranian players Pejman Montazeri and Mohsen Mosalman could not accompany the team but will be joined in due time. The 7th West Asian Championship in Kuwait is to be kicked off on Saturday with 11 teams in three groups. Iran will play in Group B alongside Bahrain, Yemen and Saudi Arabia and its first match will be with Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Iran has won the Asian Cup three consecutive times (1968, 1972, 1976)./end
