Iran`s Persepolis held by Gahar at Azadi

TEHRAN, Aug.1(MNA) – Persepolis was held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Gahar Zagros Monday night here at the Azadi Stadium. Persepolis Karim Ansarifard found the back of the net with an acrobatic shot 15 minutes into the match. Persepolis could have scored more goals in the second half but its strikers failed to take advantage of their chances. With 12 minutes remaining, Persepolis midfielder Mehrdad Pooladi was shown his second yellow cared and was forced to leave the field. Three minutes later, Persepolis keeper Shahab Gordan made a blunder and Mojtaba Zarei equalized the match with a header. In the added time, substitute Mohammad Parvin’s effort was ruled out by referee despite having crossed the line.
