Iran`s Sepahan sees off Esteghlal in ACL knockout

ISFAHAN,May 23(MNA) – Sepahan defeated its Iranian compatriot Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League knockout stage on Tuesday. In the match held in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr Stadium, Sepahan beat Esteghlal 2-0 in round 16 and advanced to the next stage. Brazilian striker Bruno Cesar put Sepahan in the lead after eight minutes. Sepahan defender Mohsen Bengar headed the ball into the back of the net in the 37th minute. Iran’s Persepolis will also face Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in the same stage in Jeddah’s Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium on Wednesday.
