Khalid bin Hamad directs to hold Strength Week 2023

Manama, Nov. 2 (BNA): First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed the organizing committee of the Strength Week to prepare for the 2023 edition, which will be held in February under the theme "Be a Beast".
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the interest in holding the sporting events reflects the royal support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to continue developing the sport outcomes in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He added that work on diversifying the base of the sport games aims to boost the role of sport as an effective and multi-faceted development tool.
"We are keen to integrate the role of sport with other development sectors in the kingdom and have it play a fruitful role in enhancing the economic aspects, especially with its properties that support tourism," he said. He expressed happiness over holding the Strength Week again, affirming confidence in the successful organization of the event. He hailed participation of the athletes from the Gulf countries, stressing that the Strongest Gulf Man Championship is a Bahraini contribution to the Gulf sport to support talents and prepare them for the continental and international championships.
