Khalid bin Hamad meets with CEO of American Academy for Sports

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) received in his office at Al Wadi Palace Dr. Thomas James Rosdentsh, the CEO of the American Academy for Sports and member of the General Sports Authority. The meeting was attended by CEO of the General Sports Authority, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar. His Highness welcomed Dr. James in Bahrain, praising his contributions towards upgrading the sports sector in the Kingdom. He discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation between the General Sports Authority and the American Academy of Sports, in a manner that contributes to supporting joint relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, especially in the sports field. His Highness praised cooperation between the American Academy and the General Sports Authority and other sports institutions with the aim of implementing joint programmes that can achieve positive gains towards the transformation of sports into professionalism. He pointed out the role of sports as a tributary of the national economy towards achieving the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. For his part, Dr. James expressed thanks and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praising his distinguished efforts in achieving qualitative leaps in Bahraini sports and boosting the advanced position occupied by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of international sports. He stressed that the American Academy for Sports is proud of partnership and cooperation with all Bahraini sports bodies.
