Khalid bin Hamad praises Nasser bin Hamad's Sponsorship of BRAVE Week

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation, Chairman of the High Organising Committee of BRAVE International Combat Week, commended the sponsorship of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee of BRAVE International Combat Week, which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 11-18 November at the Khalifa Sports City Hall, and will include the 5th edition of the Amateur World Championship. HH Shaikh Khalid said, "We are very proud of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s sponsorship of BRAVE International Combat Week, which reflects his keenness to support the success of this event, held in the Kingdom for the second time, following the success of Bahrain in the outstanding and impressive organisation of the previous edition. This success earned Bahrain the confidence of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation to host the 5th and 6th editions of the 2018 and 2019 Amateur World Championships." HH Shaikh Khalid continued, "Thanks to the efforts of its people, Bahrain has proved to the world its capability of organising various sports events, having achieved unprecedented success in organising the last edition of BRAVE, which enhanced Bahrain’s position as a country that cultivates all sports, especially mixed martial arts."  He concluded, "Manama is now a major capital on the global MMA map, and a primary driver for the support and development of this sport, through the steps which we have taken to establish a strong local base and create an ideal environment for Bahraini youth to practice. Bahraini MMA has managed to pave a path to continental and international success, competing against strong teams and occupying a leading position. Our efforts were not limited to a local scale; we are keen to promote the culture of this sport at regional and Arab levels, in addition to launching the world-class BRAVE Championship, to be an integral part of this sport."
