Kuwait wins more Gulf fencing medals

Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA): Kuwait has led the Gulf Fencing Championship 2017 held in Bahrain, winning two gold medals, three silver and four bronze. Mishal Al-Shimali, head of the Kuwaiti team, said that Yusuf Al-Shamlan won the gold in the junior sabre duel, while his teammates Mohammad Al-Amari and Mohammad Al-Fadhli won the silver and bronze in the same competition, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). Kuwait team members Fares Al-Shemmeri, Mohammad Al-Ajmi and Ahmad Al-Mutairi dominated the podium of the Epee team competition, he said. Abdullah Ghuloom lost to a Qatari fencer and won the silver medal in the junior Epee duel. Yaqoub Al-Shatti and Ali Dashti had equal score and won the bronze. The tally of Kuwait is five gold, five silver and six bronze, KUNA reported.
