Leadership congratulated on award

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of West Asian Athletics Federation, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, extended his deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, ruler of the country, May God Protect Him; His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister; and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee; on the occasion of Bahrain Athletic Association winning the Best Arab Association in the Sports of Athletics Award at an award ceremony organized by ARABBEST company and hosted in the city of Marrakesh, Morocco. His Highness highlighted that the award is the fruit borne from the support by HM the King to the "Mother of Sports" and support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, pointing out that the award is a source of pride and confirmation of the status of Athletics in the Arab region. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa added that Bahrain Athletic Association has accomplished many achievements and success over the past four years in all aspects, including the first position at the 2015 Arab Athletics Championships held in Bahrain; the first Arab country position in the 2016 Rio Olympics with the first Bahraini gold medal by sprinter Ruth Jebbet in the Women's 3000m steeplechase race, in addition to the silver medal by Eunice Kirwa in the marathon race; and many other Arab, continental and international achievements that place the Kingdom of Bahrain on par with the developed countries in the mother of games. His Highness pointed out that the award is an extension in the chain of successes and achievements by the Bahrain Athletic Association, who raised Bahrain's banner at every foreign participation. His Highness noted that the award confirms the prestigious position the Association has on the Arab level, which is a result of the extensive success from the wise leadership, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Association's board member. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his pride in winning the Best Arab Association in the Sport of Athletics Award by ARABBEST (The reason that pushes the Association to move forward and work hard to succeed in the mother of games to accomplish more achievements on all levels which enhances the Kingdom of Bahrain's position on the global sports map)
