Longines Hathab - Qatar Equestrian Season 3 to Resume in August

Doha, June 30 (QNA) - With national Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions being lifted in phases and the Qatar Olympic Committee recent announcement on the resumption of sporting activities after July 20, 2020, the Longines Hathab - Qatar Equestrian Tour Organizing Committee announced the resumption of competitions for the third season of the tournament in August 2020. The third season of the annual series, which started in October 2019 and was originally scheduled to conclude in April this year. It had been suspended, after the completion of the 9th Tour, in line with national health guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Longines Hathab Tour 10 will now take place on August 7 and 8, Tour 11 on August 14 and 15, and the Tour 12 finale over three days on August 27, 28, and 29. It should be noted that these three tours will take place without spectators in the arena in the Qatar Equestrian Federation, and will feature only the showjumping (Individual and Teams) discipline. Dressage and Future Riders competition, which were a part of the earlier legs, will not be taking place. Longines, ExxonMobil, and Salam International are the main partners of the series, which is open to Qataris and residents of Qatar. It should be noted that rider Salman Mohammed Al Emadi topped the ranking of the riders participating in the grand round of the championship "Longines Hathab" version, and he scored 172 points by participating in 7 tours of the championship that stopped after the end of its ninth tour. While Nasser Al Ghazali won second place, and Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi came in third place. As for the middle tour competitions, it is led by rider Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi, after he achieved 178 points during his participation in nine tours, leaving the second position for Mohammed Khalifa Al Baker and the third for Muhammad Hazeem. Within the team competition, the ranking was led by That Top team with a score of 1974 points, ahead of Exxon Mobil II and Lusail III. As for the smallest tour competitions, its riders, Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi topped the ranking with 170 points, which he obtained after participating in 9 tours. Within the Future Riders competition, the first level, the rider Fahd Abdul Karim Obaid topped the ranking with 131 points, and for the Future Riders competition the second level, the rider Lulwa Ali, topped the ranking.
