Malaysian Polo Squad Can Reach SEA Games Finals - Minister Khairy

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has expressed confidence in the national polo squad reaching the finals at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games (KL2017) scheduled to take place from Aug 19 to 30. Khairy, who will play for the national team in the event, said the team's preparation for the event was on track. He said he would join up with the rest of the squad currently undergoing training in Pekan, Malaysia’s Pahang state after the Malaysian Open Polo Championship ends this Sunday. "I'm confident the national team will achieve its goal to enter the finals and fight for the gold medal. "Most of the players are already there (in Pekan) to undergo centralised training, and after the end of the tournament, I will spend some time there (Pekan)," he told reporters after a match between his team, Jogo Polo, and La Familia at the Selangor Royal Polo Club, Thursday.
