Malaysians Nicol, Nafiizwan Advance To Second Round Of US Open

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's squash queen Nicol David took 30 minutes before marching into the second round of the 2016 US Open held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on Saturday. According to the tournament's official website, http://www.usopensquash.com the three-time champion defeated Line Hansen of Denmark in a straight set of 11-3, 11-6 and 11-6. The world number three booked a second round battle against top seed Nour El Sherbini of Egypt on Monday, who received a comfortable win against qualifier Misaki Kobayashi of Japan 13-11, 11-9 and 11-2. Another national women's squash player Delia Arnold who will also begin the main draw campaign, will meet Camille Serme of France later at 12pm local time. (Malaysia is 12 hours ahead of Philadelphia). Meanwhile, national top ranked player in the men's category, Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan pulled off a tremendous straight-game win over Miguel Rodriguez of Colombia, 11-9, 11-8 and 11-9 to get through into the next round.
