Mini Olympic2017 preparations begin

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): A purpose-formed ad hoc committee within Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has started its preparations for the 2017 School Mini Olympics. The fourth edition of the School Mini Olympics is scheduled to run from March 16 to 30 and will bring government and private schools, with 11 sports confirmed so far. They are football, 3x3 basketball, handball, cricket, athletics, swimming, duathlon, table tennis, taekwondo and Jiu-Jitsu. Lounes Madene, who is heading the standing committee of the event, chaired the committee’s inaugural meeting to discuss the initial arrangements needed for the start of the competition. Madene asked the committee members to learn from the flaws and build on the success achieved that in the previous edition of the School Mini Olympics. He also urged them to double their efforts in bid to prepare well for this year’s event and finalise all preparations ahead of the opening ceremony. The standing committee also includes Information Technology committee head Nawaf Abdulrahman and Media committee head Hasan Ali, who shared a number of thoughts and suggestions to enrich the fourth edition of the School Mini Olympics this year.
