Mongolian judokas win medals in Tashkent Grand Prix

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Mongolian judokas grabbed two silver, two bronze medals and three other judokes took 5th places in the Tashkent Judo Grand Prix tournament which was held October 4-6 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. With a prize fund of USD 100 thousand, the tournament brought together 154 judokas from 21 countries such as Mongolia, Iran, Brazil, Belguim, Russia, and USA. On the first day of competition, a Mongolian B.Batgerel captured a silver medal in men's 66 kg contest; an international master of sports G.Kherlen and State Honoured Sportsman Kh.Tsagaanbaatar grabbed bronze medals in men's 60 kg and 73 kg contests, respectively. In men's 73 kg contest, G.Odbayar took 5th place. The next day, O.Javzmaa won a silver medal in women's +78 kg contest, whereas O.Uuganbaatar (men's 81 kg) and E.Enkhbat (men's -100 kg) took 5th places as well. Thanks to winning the medals and taking places, the Mongolians judokas have earned extra points for the International Judo Federation (IJF) rankings for being qualified to the 2016 Olympic Games.
