Mongolian rugby players finish 4th place in Asia Rugby Men’s Sevens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The national men’s rugby team finished 4th place in the Asia Rugby Men’s Sevens Trophy that took place in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 10-11. Under the coaching of G.Dashdendev, a team of 12 athletes competed in the tournament, making a historic achievement for the national rugby scene. Winning the team of Uzbekistan by 19-0, and the home team of Indonesia by 19-12, our team placed first in the pool. However, the team was matched against the team of Thailand in the semi-final, and lost the match by 14-24, finishing the tournament in 4th place. Previously, the national rugby team participated in the 2010 Asian Games and the Shanghai Sevens tournament in 2011.
