Mongolians win two bronze in amateur boxing championships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Asian Women’s Boxing Championships was held August 7-13 in Wulanchabu, China. Two athletes have grabbed bronze medals in their categories, out of eight athletes sent from Mongolia. International master of sports M.Nandintsetseg won bronze in 51 kg category, being defeated in the semifinals by Ren Cancan, a Chinese athlete who beat boxers from Uzbekistan and South Korea. The second medal was brought to the national team by M.Gundegmaa in 54 kg, who entered the semifinals by beating Tajik athlete Rukhshona Rakhmonzoda and then was defeated to the Thai boxer Peamwilai Laopeam. Mongolia now has a total of nine medals from Asian Women’s Championships. In overall scores, the Chinese team topped the tournament, while the teams of Thailand and South Korea came in second and third places.
