"Nasser 10" tournament draw held

Manama, Apr. 30 (BNA): The first draw of the tenth edition of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa's Ramadan Football Tournament, Nasser 10, was held in the presence of the Deputy Head of the High Organising Committee, Mr Hassan Ismail, Tournament Director Ali Al-Majed and the Head of the Technical Committee Mohammed Hussain and Redha Al-Shamlan from the Secretariat as well as the participating team representatives at the Bahrain Football Association headquarters. The draw resulted in balanced team groups, with team Victorious, last edition’s titleholder, Suqoor Al Bahrain, Majestic Cars and Falcons in Group A. Last edition’s runner-up, Batelco Gunners United, Nomas, Al Fursan Palace Hotel and Dreams came in Group B, while Group C included the teams Forever, Al-Nuwayef, Al-Wihda and Al Saqer Al-Abyadh. The fourth and final group included the teams Al Zilzal, Al Fakhar, Al Zaeem and Al-Hisan Al-Abyad. The tournament will launch on May 21 and will run until June 9, coinciding with the 14th of Ramadan. According to the tournament’s system, two teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals and then the winners will advance to the semi-finals. The victors in this stage will progress to the the final match. Victorious was the title winner of the previous edition, after defeating its rival Gunners United in the final, winning the title for the third time in the history of the tournament. The Tournament was launched about a decade ago after gaining wide fame locally which spread to the Gulf region, especially with its results and provided indicators confirming organisational, administrative and technical success which undoubtedly attained the goals for which this tournament was launched.
