National-team cyclist dies of food poisoning

TEHRAN,May 3(MNA) – Former Iran national team cyclist Ziba Mahini died of food poisoning on Tuesday The 24-year-old died after eating canned fish in the university, according to her family. Mahini was a member of the Iranian cycling team in 2009 and 2010 and took part in the Women Elite ACC Track Asia Cup held in Japan in 2009. She was laid to rest on Wednesday in Tehran's Behesht-e Zahra cemetery. The Tehran Times staff offers its heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family.
