Nursultan-2009 mountain climbing event
Almaty, June 24, 2009 (Khabar) - On the 5th of July the “Nursultan-2009” mountain climbing event will be hosted by Almaty. Its purpose lies in getting rescue services of the city prepared for conducting the Asian Games in 2011as well as training mountain subdivisions of security services. Apart from that, conducting healthy lifestyle promotion activities among townspeople will become one of the core tasks of the upcoming event. The event’s program involves mass and speed ascent to the “Nursultan” peak in the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, the height of which equals 4376 metres above the sea level. Anyone can take part in the mass ascent, the route of which will open on the 5th of July at 4 a.m. It will start with ascending by the cable way at the “Shymbulak” ski resort which will then go through the “Talgar” pass to the “Kyrlytau” pass and as far as the peak of the mountain. All the participants will be given certificates and honour badges. The security measures of the event will be provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
