Ooredoo Cup Round 7: Al Wakrah Face Al Shamal, Al Ahli Face Al Rayyan

Doha, November 24 (QNA) - Al Wakrah face Al Shamal SC in Round 7 (Group B) of the 2021-2022 season Ooredoo Cup at the Al Wakrah Stadium on Saturday. Group A leaders Al Wakrah will be looking to put further distance between them and rivals, Al Wakrah, coached by Marquez Lopez, have been the form team this season. Lopez's boys are on a three-match winning streak after beating Umm Salal, Al Ahli and Al Rayyan in the last three rounds. With a tally of 12 points from 5 matches, Al Wakrah are ahead of the second-placed Umm Salal (7 points). Al Wakrah have scored 15 goals and conceded only 6. Fourth-placed Al Shamal have just 5 points from as matches. Al Shamals draw with Al Ahli in the last round helped them break a two-match losing streak. Only Al Rayyan are below Al Shamal who will be hoping to close this phase of Ooredoo Cup with a win on Saturday. On another match, Al Ahli face Al Rayyan in Round 7 (Group B) at the Al Khor Stadium. Al Ahli, who have featured in two draws in their last two matches, will be looking to add to their overall points tally of 6 on Saturday when they face Al Rayyan. Three draws in 5 matches have pegged Al Ahli back against top two sides Al Wakrah and Umm Salal in Group A. Al Rayyan, on the other hand, have struggled this season.
