Ooredoo Signs Up as Regional Supporter of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021

Doha, November 09 (QNA) - The International Football Association (FIFA) announced the selection of the Ooredoo as the Official Middle East & Africa Telecommunications Operator of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the upcoming FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
In a statement today, FIFA said: "The relationship has been rooted since previous FIFA Club World Cup agreements, the Qatari operator's agreement strengthens the company's long-standing commitment to FIFA's leading events, Ooredoo was also a National Supporter of the 2019 and 2020 editions of the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar.
FIFA's Director of Commercial Revenue, Nick Brown, said: "We are delighted that Ooredoo has returned, this time as a Regional Supporter, for these two amazing tournaments in Qatar with Ooredoo by our side, we are looking forward to hosting memorable events that will connect followers of the beautiful game in Qatar and across the globe."
HE Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al-Thani, said: "We are beyond proud to be working with FIFA again, this time as a key supporter of the biggest sporting event in the world and of the biggest football event in the region."
"All eyes will be on Qatar over the next couple of months and in 2022 as our country is propelled onto the global sporting stage. This is an opportunity for Ooredoo to cement our leadership in innovation and telecommunications, promote our country as a major sporting hub, and celebrate football, the most popular sport in the world," HE added.
The Arab Cup (Qatar 2021) will see the participation of 16 teams between November 30 and December 18. The tournament will pave the way for the Qatar World Cup, which will be held between November 21 and December 18, 2022.
Six of the 2022 World Cup stadiums will be decorated to host the Arab Cup 2021, whose competitions will start with the participation of 16 Arab teams from the continents of Asia and Africa.
The two venues to be unveiled during the event will be Al Bayt Stadium and Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. Both will be inaugurated on 30 November the opening day of the tournament to join the five Qatar 2022 stadiums whose readiness was previously announced, namely Khalifa International Stadium, Al Janoub, Education City, Ahmad Bin Ali and Al Thumama.
The expected tournament for the Arabs and the world will witness the announcement of the readiness of two stadiums for the 2022 World Cup which are Al Bayt Stadium and Ras Abu Aboud Stadium the first stadium that can be completely dismantled in the history of the World Cup. (QNA)
